Permissions

On this management form you can assign project, folders and forms to a user, group, or role. This is a mandatory step before a user can see - an thus use - items in K2 Business Apps.

We start with the drop-down where you specify to what type of group you want to assign the permissions. You can select User if you want to assign permissions to individual users. Select Group if you want to assign permissions to groups exposed by K2. These can be e.g. Azure AD groups. Select Role if you want to assign permissions to existing K2 roles.

Depending on your selection, one of three views will be shown:

User

In order to select a user you need two things: a security label, which is defaulted to K2, and a user. The auto complete control is used so you can simply start typing and the control will suggest users to you.

The Apply button should only be clicked if you want to apply permissions. The reason it is on this view is for layout reasons, nothing else.

Group

In order to select a group you need two things: a security label, which is defaulted to K2, and a group. The auto complete control is used so you can simply start typing and the control will suggest groups to you.

The Apply button should only be clicked if you want to apply permissions. The reason it is on this view is for layout reasons, nothing else.

Role

To select a K2 role, simply start typing and the auto complete control will suggest roles.

The Apply button should only be clicked if you want to apply permissions. The reason it is on this view is for layout reasons, nothing else.

Permissions

The final step is assigning the permissions for the selected user, group or role. The tree control shown on the right side of the form shows the structure defined using the management forms for projects, folders and forms. You can check the items you want to expose for the selected user, group or role and click apply to save these permissions.
